Katy Perry Feminist or Opportunist

Katy Perry is an entertainer, business woman, political activist, feminist and perhaps opportunist.

Katy Perry is just one of the girls. At least that’s what she hopes young impressionable girls will believe. Perry is actually 33 years old.

Katy Perry states she is a feminist. Which explains why she performed at multiple ceremonies for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton during her 2016 campaign. Perry also claims to be a LGBT rights activist. And yes, Katy Perry has thrown her full support behind the Muslim American community. Even releasing a YouTube video called “Is history repeating itself?”

Let’s hope not. For starters, Katy Perry’s memory does not seem to recall the history of September 11, 2001. Just to be clear with the facts; the September 11 attacks (also referred to as 9/11) were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamic terrorist group Al-Qaeda on the United States. Unfortunately, history has made it clear that Islamic terrorists are typically Muslim. Sad but true. This is not a dig at all Muslim people of course. But simply stating the obvious.

Let’s not forget that the Al-Qaeda ideologues envision a complete break from all foreign influences in Muslim countries (this would include Katy Perry too…), and the creation of a new caliphate ruling over the entire Muslim world. Those are their words, not mine. Too bad Katy Perry was not thinking of all Americans. Just the ones appearing in the headlines at that moment.

Now to be fair, Katy Perry was dealing with her own issues in 2001. Such as the release of her commercially unsuccessful debut studio album titled Katy Hudson (which is her real name).

It’s unfortunate Katy couldn’t simply put her support behind “all” American communities without attempting to exploit the many fine and hardworking Muslims in our country. Not to mentioned around the world.

Perry gained some success in 2008 with the release of her second album, titled One of the Boys, and its single “I Kissed a Girl.” Keep in mind this is the same rear Perry came out and began publicly supporting the LGBT community. Coincident…? In 2008 Perry stated she was proud to be a gay activist, saying “I’ve always been a very open-minded person, but I definitely believe in equality.” She also confirmed that she voted against Proposition 8, that legally defined marriage as a union solely between a man and a woman in California.

But wait…! Perry also describes herself as a feminist. Of course she does… Yet, she endorsed Hillary Clinton for President in 2016 and campaigned hard (harder than Hillary herself, but of course that’s not saying much) in the name of equality for women. But where was Katy Perry when the women who accused Hillary’s husband (and former President of the United States, Bill Clinton) of sexual assault? Not a word from Katy Perry regarding the treatment of these women. Of course not. The truth just isn’t cool. Most importantly, it’s not profitable in this case.

Ultimately, and perhaps most accurately is that Katy Perry also describes herself as a successful business woman with an estimated net worth of $125 million, based on 2016 financial figures. Not bad for a white female from the tough and impoverished city streets of Santa Barbara, California.

If Katy Perry truly believes she knows and speaks for women of this country it is without any doubt Hillary Clinton was demolished in the 2016 Presidential Election.

You truly are a firework Katy Perry. A shiny flashy flickering image in the distance, presenting the promise of something great… but then just burning out and fading into nothingness.
