What can we say…
We just love Sam Rockwell. And while he isn’t exactly in the unnoticed category of leading male actors, he certainly has been of the “unsung” variety.
But the winds of change seem to be howling in Sam’s direction, and these winds appear to be the kind of mighty and positive influence.
Sam Rockwell is nominated as best supporting actor for his role as much disturbed cop, Jason Dixon, in the film “Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri”, also starring our lead actress fave, Frances McDormand.
It’s well worth noting, Sam has already been dominating wins for this role, picking up a Golden Globe and Sag award, both for best supporting actor.
Sam Rockwell’s movie career is quite impressive, some may be surprised by just how many notable films he’s been a part of, The Green Mile, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Matchstick Men, Snow Angels and A Single Shot, which should have afforded him a best actor nomination, with such a power-house performance by Rockwell. But somehow, he was overlooked.
Rockwell’s co-star in “Three Billboards”, Woody Harrelson, is also nominated in the best supporting actor category, so, no doubt these two will be cheering each other on, like all good and supportive acting brethren should. But Sam
Rockwell has dug the ditches and put in the time. And he has been very patient.
It has been said, as the go the Globes, so go the Oscar’s, which has, more often than not, been true to form.
That being the case, we’re not trying to jinx you, Sam, BUT… CONGRATS, on everything!
You have more than earned it.
