Joe Scarborough returned with his predictable Monday motivation, blasting President Donald Trump for adopting what he said was the language of Joseph Stalin.
Scarborough will do and say just about anything that puts the President in an unfavorable position with the world.
But in the process, Scarborough is not only dividing the country, but seems to be breeding doomsday for the entire world.
“I look at Donald Trump and I look at the horrors of Donald Trump’s presidency, the violence that he does to constitutional norms, the contempt he has for the rule of law, the Stalinist phrases that he trots out when he speaks about the free press that our founders saw as really the corner stone of the bill of rights,” said Scarborough in the first hour of Monday’s “Morning Joe.”
Commemorating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scarborough played a clip from 31 years ago in which President Ronald Reagan hoped that Americans could come together.
“As recent unfortunate events have demonstrated, we cannot be complacent about racism and bigotry,” Reagan said in the 1987 speech. “I would challenge all of you to pledge yourselves to building an America where incidents of racial hatred do not happen because racism has been banned not just from the law books, but from the hearts of the people.”
Scarborough also stated. “But after all these decades of progress, here we find ourselves with the reactionary and, yes, some would say a racist president.”
It appears in “the world according to Joe Scarborough,” racism did not exist prior to the election of President Trump.
Events such as Ferguson and Black Lives Matter, both which occurred under Barak Obamas’ presidency, are to be ignored.
According to Scarborough, everything was perfect until Trump.
Black Lives Matter, one of the largest, most public protests in our country’s history was founded in July of 2013, during then President Obamas’ term in office.
The activist movement, originating in the African-American community, campaigned against violence and systemic racism towards black people.
After the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of African-American teen Trayvon Martin the preceding February. Black Lives Matter became nationally recognized for its street demonstrations following the 2014 deaths of two African Americans: Michael Brown, resulting in protests and unrest in Ferguson, and Eric Garner in New York City.
All of this racial unrest occurring “before” Trump won the 2016 Presidential election.
Instead of dealing with the “real issue of racism”, ole Morning Joe would rather take the cheap and easy way out and just hurl insult upon insult at the sitting President of our country.
But where was Joe Scarborough’s’ cutting criticism of former President Obama at the time of visible racial unrest in our country? More importantly, where is Joe now?
What can Joe do for African Americans in this country that President Trump can’t?
Simply “sitting out” the issue along with John Lewis and Maxine Waters just further divides us as a nation. Perhaps that is the goal…
It appears all Joe Scarborough can do is desperately attempt to use race as a weapon. No real answers, no solutions, just fear mongering, and in the process breeding doomsday for the world.
